It's like the new language policy: If it's not on TV, it's not okay. If CCL has had some kind of formal warning already about what's getting accepted, then I could understand all of this. But now when it comes to "sexual content", which we all agree is vague, why not the tiny censor boxes? What happened to CCL's stance of "a bad cover image is better than no cover image"? We allow a lot of CRAPPY cover images to be accepted in that logic, but now future quality images that are "borderline" are gonna be rejected because of an inability to agree on what's acceptable? All because of what might happen? IMO, that's ridiculous. Well I think Saw's example is way overkill, it's like not even having a cover image, but any censoring will not be accepted? I gotta say, I could care less about adult covers and nudity not being added, that's a no brainer when kids have access to it. When the 2.0 system is in place, we will need a to avoid vagueness in what is accepted and what is not.

We are still working on the age verification system, however, there has been much controversy sparked on CCL on what is properly accepted and what is not. We will be adding this to the change request guidelines as well. Basically, any cover scan for a book that requires the infamous little "black boxes" will be rejected. You can, however, add a scan of any issue, adult or not, in your own personal software/database. 2) After a cover title for a comic with sexual (or adult) content has been approved, if the cover has any of the following: a) Sexual content b) Nudity c) Drug Use. *PLEASE add COMMENTS in your submission as to the adult nature of the cover title being added.

If they don't use the word on the major TV networks, then it's a rejection. Since there is LOTS of subjectivety in what defines adult language, use common sense. Here goes: 1) CCL will accept any cover title in an add cover title submission, whether the cover title is adult in nature* or not, AS LONG AS the cover title itself doesn't contain adult language. It might not be perfect, but I'm not sure there is a perfect solution for this. But some clear ruling on this issue would be appreciated, especially with the confusion other forum users seem to have about the Hellina comics.Īfter some discussion on this topic, we have reached some sort of framework for guidelines on sexual content.

Certainly for this particular series anyway. Even though i wouldnt consider the content to be any worse than penthouse comix. So i fully expect that most of the other titles i requested to be added will be rejected. But as per my previous post i would have thought in the short term it would be better to just not allow cover scans for titles that might have more mature content. Hopefully when they introduce the age verification these comics can be added. But i do feel very strongly that this is a wrong decision on te part of CCL. But despite the fact that ccl dont do eros, they are in the publisher database? If we arent allowed to catalogue these sorts of comics I can survive not being able to add what amount to maybe 10 or 12 comics from a collection of well over 10000. If it has then things like this need to be made more visible. Being new(ish) here i'm sure its possible i've missed this somewhere but i'm sure that this isnt stated anywhere in the guidelines. Reason given is that CCL dont do Eros titles. Just to see if they would be accepted as much as anything else, and one of which has already been rejected.

Just tried to put through a few additions to the database. But i'd be interested to see what everyone thinks about this if nothing else. So shouldnt they be catalogued as well? Fairly new here everyone so sorry if this has already been covered. Some of the content is absolute rubbish but some of them feature artwork by some of the top artists out there and are of interest to collectors for just that reason. Is there a hard and fast rule on this or is it decided on a case by case basis? As a long time collector I beleive that although sometimes the content of some of these books can cut a bit close to the bone, they are a an established sub section of this industry and shouldnt be ignored. I'm confused by this because some of the content of Penthouse Comix could also be described in the same way. But that the Hellina titles have been made invalid because of sexually explicit content. I've noticed that Penthouse Comix has been included although obviously the covers have been edited. I wanted to try and get some understanding of what guidelines there are for submitting titles to the database that would be considered for a mature audience.I've read the change guidelines but unless i missed it there didnt seem to be anything there.
